Sofa so Good

Velvet is becoming the upholstery of choice harking back to furniture from a bygone era

Forget the large oversized neutral sofa in favour of a statement piece in a strong colour or  patterned fabric.

Sofa trends have for years been dictated by their practical considerations. Leather and textured fabrics in brown, tan and grey became very popular in the early 2000’s as well as neutral creams and linens. But all of that has gone out of the window as velvet becomes the upholstery of choice harking back to furniture from a bygone era. And now the colours are vibrant emerald or burnt orange or yellow.

Patterned sofas are staging a comeback too in modern florals and geometrics as well as animal print. You can even try stripes if florals are not your thing.

Whatever you decide, this can be the statement sofa as the focal point of your living space around which the whole scheme can work.
